Premium Yacht Marketplace™ publishes market context alongside vessel listings, including live comparables (other vessels currently on the market), sold comparables (recent closed transactions), and market commentary. This page describes how that information is compiled and how it should be interpreted.

Live Comparables

Live comparables are vessels of comparable make, model, generation, or configuration that are currently offered for sale in the broader market at the time of publication. Listed prices are asking prices, not transaction prices, and change frequently. Comparable selection is a judgment call and does not represent an exhaustive market survey.

Sold Comparables

Sold comparables reflect reported closed transactions compiled from brokerage MLS reports and other public-market sources. Where the source distinguishes list-to-sold ratios, days-on-market, or listed dates, those values are shown as reported. Reporting practices vary between brokerages and regions; some transactions may be excluded or reported with a delay.

Filters and Recency

Sold data is generally filtered to the most recent twelve months to reflect current conditions. Regional filters may be applied where local market dynamics differ materially from the subject vessel’s market. Filters are intended to improve relevance and are not warranties of completeness.

Derived Fields

Certain fields are computed from the underlying data, including price-delta percentages and days-on-market fallbacks derived from listed and sold dates. Derived values are provided for convenience and should be verified against the underlying source data before any decision.

Limitations

Market data is provided for general informational and marketing purposes. It is not an appraisal, valuation, or investment recommendation. Actual transaction outcomes depend on vessel condition, equipment, hours, service history, market timing, negotiation, and factors not captured in comparable data. All information should be independently verified through current documentation, inspection, survey, sea trial, and qualified professional review.
